Aashita Cancer Care Trust: A New Beginning Towards Affordable Cancer Care in India

Cancer remains one of the most pressing public health challenges across India today. Beyond the intense emotional burden of diagnosis, millions of families face catastrophic healthcare expenditures that place life-saving oncology care out of reach. Aashita Cancer Care Trust was founded to confront this reality directly: to prove that world-class cancer care, early detection guidance, and compassionate patient assistance can be made truly accessible and affordable.
The Trust's journey began with a shared vision between two committed leaders: Mr. Pankaj Gupta, a first-generation industrial entrepreneur and cancer survivor, and Dr. Vikas Goyal, an accomplished surgical oncologist with over 19 years of clinical expertise trained at the Tata Memorial Cancer Centre. Having navigated the rigors of cancer treatment firsthand, Mr. Gupta recognized that countless patients delay medical care due to prohibitive private hospital costs, lack of information, and confusing clinical pathways.
Rather than waiting years for large-scale external grants, the founders launched an immediate, self-funded operational phase in Chandigarh. This foundation provides specialized outpatient consultations (OPD), surgical oncology evaluations, and an initial 10-bed hospital recovery facility. This immediate setup delivers prompt clinical direction, affordable consultations, and patient support subsidies for economically disadvantaged families right now.
Our long-term ambition extends far beyond a single city. We envision a sustainable, decentralized healthcare blueprint titled: 'One Entrepreneur. One Doctor. One City. One Mission.' By uniting a socially committed local entrepreneur with a qualified specialist oncologist in cities and smaller towns across India, we can establish community-driven Aashita Cancer Care Centres nationwide.
Under this collaborative model, each participating centre aspires to provide free or highly subsidized treatment to one or two deserving underprivileged cancer patients daily, subject to clinical criteria and available resources. As our network expands, the Trust aims to establish a comprehensive 100-bed modern cancer hospital equipped with advanced diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic facilities.
We invite oncologists, entrepreneurs, community volunteers, and citizens from across India to join our cancer care mission. Together, we can ensure that dignified, high-quality cancer care is recognized as a fundamental human right, not a luxury.
